Loving Mother, Sister, Daughter, Aunt and Friend
Our beloved Carol sadly lost her battle against colon cancer on 13th March 2020.
During her three years living with cancer, herself and us as a family received fantastic support and treatment from all healthcare services involved.
At the beginning of 2020, Carol entered St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger, initially for pain management and respite, with the aim to get back on her feet and home soon after. Unfortunately the cancer took control, which meant Carol was unable to get home as hoped.
During the two months she spent at St John's, herself and us were welcomed with open arms and hearts. The care she received from each individual was excellent and attentive to the very last detail. Each person touched Carol and ourselves in areas we did not know existed and eventually helped achieve Carols final wishes.
As a family we shared wonderful memories with Carol throughout her hospice stay. Whilst trying to continue with some normality and continue to smile with laughter, the whole team helped us to achieve this. Especially towards the end, in and around the hospice and surroundings, it allowed us precious invaluable time as a family, which we will forever be grateful for.
Carol felt safe, loved and cared for by everybody at St John's Hospice, which as a family we are forever in their debt.
